What's up everyone! This is Danny and Derek, and welcome to Danny and Derek Do Board Games! We've been making board game videos on YouTube since August of 2017. You may have also seen us as a contributor for the Dice Tower's Board Game Breakfast! #YouBetYourBippy! We started this passion project of creating content centered around board games because we wanted to spread the amount of joy that we get from the adventures we take playing board games together. Our goal was to not only spread the magic of board gaming and table top gaming, but also increase visibility of the LGBTQ+ members of the board game community. We've created a strong network through Twitter (@DannyAndDerek), instagram, and Facebook and have made friends with a lot of you in our journey to make board gaming as diverse and inclusive as possible until it is the new "normal".
The reason we're starting this Pod Pledge is because we have a secret... we have got to come out of the closet and say that this whole time, we've been shooting AND editing on an iPhone. Maintaining a channel is hard enough, but with chubby fingers, it's really time consuming to shoot, edit, cut, paste, type, and upload all on a 5.8" screen.
Why Pod Pledge over Patreon? Even though Patreon is the "bigger" platform and we may get more traction through a commercialized crowd funding site, we wanted to be able to support Chaz. We have been overwhelmed with the support we have gotten from veteran content creators we've been able to become friends with and the least we could do is to help push the board gaming community forward in the realm of crowd funding by supporting Pod Pledge.
Regardless of what comes of this Pod Pledge account, we will still create content because it has allowed us to connect, inspire, work, and get to know so many fantastic people. However, with a bit of residual income, we'll be able to set aside money to keep creating content, but with much higher quality and frequency as well as have that little bit of monetary motivation each time we're in front of the camera. Another endeavor of ours is to be able to go to different conventions so that we can meet all you beautiful people, so depending on how successful this is, we will add extra money to our "convention friend fund." All the proceeds will go into an account used solely for upgrading equipment, getting new games to cover for you guys, and becoming a better channel.

The How-2-Plays of Board Games - this is where we give you the full set up and game play of a game, in hopes of you being able to set aside the rule book and learn along side us. This is usually for a company who sent us a game or as a Kickstarter preview.
